Wash Day

I know it's been a while, please forgive me for being MIA. Once I started teaching my life was taken over with reading, lesson plans, grading assignments and all of the other duties that go with teaching. However, I love it!!!

Today was wash day for me. I'm exactly 4 weeks post relaxer and it was really way past time for me to wash. First, let me explain that there will be no pics in this post due to the fact that I'm going to air dry. I did cut my hair (3-4 inches) 4 weeks ago to get rid of uneven ends, so it's once again at BSL. I actually like really blunt cut ends, but the plan is to let it grow back out to MBL.

  • I started with a hot oil treatment using warm coconut oil, jojoba oil, and olive oil (20 minutes). My hair felt so soft after rinsing out the oils.
  • I deep conditioned for 10 minutes with Loreal Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm. Let me say that after receiving a sample of this product I am totally in love with it. It makes my hair feel amazingly soft. I liked it so much that I purchased the full size jar.
  • After washing out the conditioner, I applied my leave-ins: ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Reconstructurizer, Hawaiian Silky 14 n 1, Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion, Grapeseed oil. I applied a little bit of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum and air dried my hair.
I'm not sure if I will flat iron tomorrow or not, if I do I'll update with some pics. Right now my main goal is health before length, so I'm really focusing on my ends and protecting them from excessive heat.

Thanks for sticking around. God bless and Happy Holidays to you all!!!

Blessed Tresses

  9. i do love your wash routine , i never knew one could mix 3 different oils for the pre poo , i was doing a pre poo using coconut oil alone. This is an amazing tip.

    1. Hi Uzo, thank you. Yes, after researching various oil mixes (through google, hair forums, and youtube) I thought it would be a great prepoo to mix the ones I could best benefit from. Give it a try with any combination of oils that works for you. Let me know what you come up with and how it works for you.
